We seek a talented, highly motivated Senior Legal Manager to be a part of our regional Operations Team. Applicants for this role must be based in and eligible to work in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, or Vietnam.




The candidate should be motivated to help the world’s premier companies understand Asia, find alignment with customers, communities and key stakeholders. 




Position Responsibilities



  • Work cooperatively to explain, negotiate and achieve execution of commercial transactions.

  • Develop and draft appropriate contract language to protect the assets and interests of the organization.

  • Assist with the identification, development, implementation and administration of policies and processes in accordance with corporate objectives.

  • Work with senior management on issues related to BGA’s legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of legal contract concepts, negotiation strategies and efficient automation of contract processes.

  • Communicate company contract policies and requirements to internal managers, employees and other stakeholders and address areas of concern regarding individual contracts projects.

  • Identify legal and regulatory issues with product and marketing initiatives, operational matters and customer engagements, including privacy and data security issues, and working with the appropriate resources to devise effective and creative solutions.

  • Maintain accurate contract records and report to the BGA Head of Legal as needed.

  • Other duties as required.




Job Requirements


We seek an exceptionally collegial, highly motivated self-starter who is excited about helping BGA function more efficiently and productively. He or she must work independently and as an effective team member in supporting and anticipating company needs and filling gaps. Qualifications include:





  • A juris doctorate, LLM, or LLB from an accredited law school. 

  • Five or more years of in-house or legal experience preferred.

  • Experience supervising or leading teams is a plus.

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and sound ethical judgement. 

  • Strong business sense, excellent judgment, growth mindset, commitment to professionalism and collegiality.

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, critical thinking, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively interact and build relationships with executives, employees, and other stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Ability to interact effectively and work in partnership with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.

  • Proficiency in MS Office/365 and Salesforce, and an ability to learn and adopt new technologies is required. 

  • Professional-level written and verbal communication skills in fluent English is required. Knowledge of one or more Indo-Pacific languages is a plus.
