Role Summary

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be pivotal in driving business improvement initiatives and delivering strategic insights. Your responsibilities will include gathering and analysing complex data, identifying trends and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to support decision-making processes. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments, translating business needs into technical requirements and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. With your expertise, you will lead projects, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to continuously enhancing business processes and systems. This role demands strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues across organisational teams to use data to drive strategic decisions and affirm their insights are represented accurately and comprehensively.
  • Gather and analyse data, using various analytics and reporting tools to detect patterns, trends, and relationships in data sets.
  • Build dashboards and systems to enable ongoing analysis and monitoring of business and growth performance.
  • Provide comprehensive analytics and collaboration support to colleagues to deliver relevant solutions.
  • Focus on making sense of data through statistical analysis, using data to be more evidence-based in practice, and supporting a portfolio of business-relevant solutions that meet the organisation's evolving technical needs.
  • Apply a diverse set of tactics, including quantitative reasoning and experimental design, to gain insight into how we can build a more exceptional business.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with key people and teams across the organisation to serve as a trusted advisor with awareness of discussions across the organisation, as well as an air traffic controller coordinating and facilitating cross-functional progress.
  • Partner with project managers and key stakeholders to shape and implement effective strategies, including developing tools and resources to empower data access and self-service and leverage expertise where it is most impactful.

Skill and Experience

  • A master’s degree in business and 5 years of experience defining, analysing, and documenting requirements, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of industry experience using data analytics to produce impactful insights, including knowing how to deal with imperfections in data.
  • Experience with online project management and visualisation tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, PowerBI, Sisense, Tableau, etc. in partnership with excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience driving cross-functional analytics projects from beginning to end in coordination with a project management team.
  • Data-driven, analytical thinker who can identify and understand complex problems and formulate alternate solutions.
  • Solid understanding of statistics and familiarity with statistical tests, distributions, and predictive modelling.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence others. Experience building team cohesiveness, leading, influencing, and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve challenging goals.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and communicate complex concepts and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organisational skills; self-directed to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Experience working, influencing, and networking within a matrix organisation.
