NPI Materials Program Planner

Infinera is looking for a highly motivated and experienced New Product Introduction materials Program Manager to drive and deliver proto materials as well as ensuring successful launches with cross functional teams.  The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous development environment, have a great sense of urgency, keen on making process and cost improvements, can identify critical paths, come up with creative solutions while coordinating and managing multiple projects simultaneously to ensure successful product launches.  This position will work with contract manufacturers, and suppliers to deliver products in time to meet aggressive development schedules and launch milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Owner for NPI program proto materials deliverables as well as production launch materials readiness
  • Build collaborative relationships with suppliers, contract manufacturers and internal stakeholders; lead teams to reach common goals and achieve project timelines
  • Report materials status to NPI Program managers, core teams and senior management
  • Drive build readiness and avoid/resolve materials shortages, issues
  • Identify component costs and lead time risks, risks mitigation, management and communications, know when to escalate
  • Place POs timely and check for shortages or excess based on build plan changes
  • Ensure smooth transition from NPI to production buyers and cross functional teams
  • Continuously identify improvement opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, improve efficiencies, reduce cost and lead times, frame business cases, and influence decision makers

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in program management or project management, preferably in supply chain or operations
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Ability to use SAP to create purchase orders
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects successfully at the same time
  • Knowledge of supply chain and operations roles and responsibilities in NPI gate reviews and product lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of manufacturing BOMs, ECO, MCO, DEV, Agile life cycle management tool
  • Proven analytical capabilities, and using data to provide insights and solutions
  • Enjoys problem solving and process improvements
  • Proven ability to be flexible, resourceful, adaptable, take initiatives and thrive in ever changing ambiguous environment
  • Expert user of MS project, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI dashboards
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to speak fluent Mandarin a plus
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and test process for telecommunication or high-tech equipment a plus
  • Experience in Six Sigma, SCRUM project management methodologies and real-life implementations a plus
  • APICS or PMP certification a plus; Demand and Supply Planning experience a plus
