Description

Leadership

  • Effectively manage the operations of the CNS MEP units by managing staff by setting individual objectives, managing performance, to maximise subordinate and performance of the Department.
  • Prepare and recommend the CNS ATM (MEP and Civil operations) budget and monitor financial performance versus budget.
  • Provide technical support and expert advice to subordinates regarding the diagnoses and rectification of faults in all MEP systems.

MEP Project Management 

  • Prepare feasibility studies for proposed system by using appropriate risk assessment and support the process of creating Request for Proposal documents
  • Participate in the process of vendor evaluations and selection for equipment related to projects 
  • Ensure all project documentation is approved and projects are executed as per set timelines and project costs.

Interface with External Agencies

  • Maintain effective communication and coordinate with external agencies such as service providers, cleaning contractors, maintenance companies, Government bodies with respect to provision of MEP services and products in line with ANSP requirements and manage the objectives in a quality and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide vendors/contractors with timely and constructive feedback to facilitate effectiveness of the department.

Systems and Facilities Provision

  • Ensure all systems and facilities are maintained in the most appropriate and reliable manner using best practices.

Preventive/Proactive Maintenance

  • Supervise scheduled and unscheduled servicing on all MEP systems in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended procedures

Work Schedule

  • Plan, organise and co-ordinate the functions and activities of the CNS MEP Department by correct scheduling and documentation to meet the requirements for delivery of an effective and responsive service.

Technology and System Upgrades

  • Plan, manage, upgrade, and maintain the CNS related MEP infrastructure and equipment ensuring system continuity and reliability. 
  • Obtain necessary permissions to ensure all system upgrades are approved by relevant stakeholders and authorities.

Interaction and Liaison with stakeholders and external agencies

  • Maintain effective communication and coordinate with external agencies such as third-party contractors, hardware, and software providers. 
  • Interact regularly with ADDC, SEWA, DEWA, FEWA and Municipalities in different Emirates.

Records and Documentation

  • Ensure the continued integrity of CNS MEP documentation and equipment maintenance records and keep them up to date for any use or reference.
  • Assist in preparation and implementation of CNS MEP procedures and documentations.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

  • Recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of CNS MEP activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled whilst delivering a quality, cost effective service to customers.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards.

Health, Safety and Environment within GCAA 

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards.

Other Tasks/ Accountability

  • Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 7 years experience in possessing;
  • Adequate technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, drainage, medium voltage switch gear and transformers, low voltage standby generators, automatic transfer switches, distribution and switchgear, UPS, Automation: PLC controlling the Power Shedding ensuring continuity of power supply in the event of ADDC failure.
