The team:

Salesforce Engineering is the engineering team within our Business Technology Team, our internal consulting department – they’re the decision support mechanism that connects data, business insights and an internal tech stack (systems) with the rest of the organization.

The Business Technology team develops internal software, integrations and data infrastructure. Our work unlocks improved operational outcomes, workflow efficiencies and new business insights across our organization. We help teams leverage data, tools and technology in order to successfully execute on their own mandates. We research, develop and maintain systems which support other internal teams from an operational and analytical perspective.

The role: 

Reporting to our VP, Engineering, the Manager of Salesforce Engineering will work with team members to support and develop their skills and career trajectory, as we all work together to empower small businesses. In addition, you will be heavily involved in the strategic direction of the Salesforce Biztech team in how we work and what we work on. Overall, you’ll support and develop your team, adapting to changes, while rolling up your sleeves to work on technical problems alongside direct reports.

The Manager, Salesforce Engineering will:

Act as a leader, where you’ll:

  • Live and breathe performance facilitation. You want to work with your team(s) to help them master their individual crafts, while also collaborating to build extraordinary experiences and systems.
  • Be committed to the success of your people. You will help them set goals, have regular 1-on-1s, and provide constructive feedback and coaching to ensure your team's success. You’ll work to understand employees’ career direction and work to empower their journey by acting as a mentor and coach. 
  • Develop a world-class Salesforce Engineering team that works closely with our Revenue Operations Team. You’ll participate in recruiting events and the hiring process while also working to level up your internal team, all while implementing new processes.
  • Remove roadblocks and build guardrails. You’ll work with the other leaders to create and maintain an environment where people can rapidly produce top-quality work that ultimately helps our internal teams and customers be successful.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders across the business. Whether it’s our Marketing and Sales teams, or other engineering functions, you’re working closely with other Jobberinos to find the best solutions in Jobber for small businesses.

Support their team with hands on work where you’ll:

  • Implement new process and automation in Salesforce, leveraging the capabilities to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Enable and install new App integration with Salesforce to contribute to a unified user experience across different systems.
  • Conduct thorough analysis, debugging, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to find optimal solutions to ensure smooth operation of Salesforce.
  • Strategize system maintenance related projects by collaborating with stakeholders to define the roadmap to maintain the reliability, scalability and efficiency of the Salesforce platform.
  • Seek out and evaluate new technologies, tools and systems to achieve state of the art tech-stack, contributing to the overall advancement of Jobbers Salesforce platform infrastructure.
  • Leverage Salesforce capabilities to optimize business processes, automate workflows, and achieve operational excellence.

To be successful, you should have:

  • Leadership & mentorship experience. You’ll bring your shared experience into conversations to influence and provide constructive feedback to direct reports throughout the journey to ensure goals are being met and exceededExperience leading similar systems or Business Technology (Salesforce-focused) teams. 
  • Previous experience as a Senior Salesforce Developer, developing and implementing Salesforce Sales Cloud Solutions.
  • The ability to be agile in an agile environment. You’ll need to be able to lead and teach your team to adapt to change, while also thinking critically and creatively to find answers to problems.
  • Effective communication skills. Being transparent with your team and establishing an open dialogue will be a key to success in supporting your coaching conversations and discussions.

    Technical know-how:

  • Extensive experience working with Apex, Gearset, Git version control, SOQL, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
  • Experience with Salesforce declarative automation tools like Process Builder, Cloud Flow Designer & Flow Builder.
  • Experience in working with data migration and import tools such as Data Loader and Data Import Wizard.

  • A proven troubleshooting experience. You’ll be very familiar with Salesforce best practices and the ability to recommend changes to our process that will increase efficiency for our internal teams.
  • A high level of adaptability. You will need to support the high-performing sales and success teams with ad-hoc requests and help in removing barriers/enabling new pathways on an ever-changing landscape

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with Salesforce Configuration and Administration
  • Experience with Heroku Connect.
  • Experience in developing integrated solutions using REST and/or SOAP.
  • Familiarity with building reports and dashboards.
  • Valid Salesforce developer certification
