About LSM

Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) is an international network of 900 Catholic organizations and thousands of grassroots leaders working together to care for our common home and advance climate and ecological justice. We strive to be led by the Holy Spirit and find joy and support in our faith and each other. We act at the forefront of faith-based efforts to protect the environment, and our work is very fast-paced, with multiple projects and priorities managed daily. We enjoy a collaborative working environment where everyone is committed to tackling the planetary crisis with courage and love. As Pope Francis said in Laudato Si’, we believe that “truly, much can be done!”

About the Position

Laudato Si’ Movement engages Catholics in action for climate and ecological justice.

We have nearly 10 years of experience in developing impactful campaigns that move the needle for the world’s 1.3 billion Catholics. We hope you’re the director of global communications who will take us even further. If you’re an incredible multi-tasker, a smart strategist, and a sensitive manager, your home is here.

This position will play a leading role in developing a global communications strategy and seeing its day-to-day execution come to life. From creating our editorial calendar to refining our digital media, the work of this position will be central to LSM’s development.

This position joins a global communications team that is located across Latin America. The director of global communications manages seven direct reports and vendors, as well as matrix managing communications staff on regional teams. The director will also collaborate with LSM staffers beyond the communications team, including with those on the movement development, advocacy, eco-conversion, special projects, and operations teams.

We’re searching for a results-oriented leader who will help Catholic communities understand and act on the inspiring values we share.

    • Review and provide feedback on websites, designs, and videos to ensure they follow best practices, adhere to LSM’s style guide, and compellingly represent us.
  • Establish and refine processes.
    • Develop new processes and improve existing processes to improve follow-through and reduce friction and confusion.
