Jobber
On-site
Toronto, Ontario, Canada ON

Do you want to use your writing skills to craft messaging that means something?

Then Jobber might be the place for you! We’re seeking a Creative Copywriter to join our Jobber Creative and Content Studio.

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

A great brand should be consistent, honest, relevant, and everywhere—and that’s the goal of Jobber Creative and Content Studio (JCCS). Across a wide variety of mediums like our website, trade shows, marketing campaigns, video, radio, billboards, etc. we want to tell the world who we are, what we do, and why we do it in a way that aligns our values with our customers' values. Branding is the magic that takes place when a person chooses a product outside of features and price, and our goal is to give people multiple reasons to choose Jobber.

The role:

Reporting to the Manager, Creative Copy, we're looking for a Creative Copywriter who can bring their style to Jobber and continue to help cement our position in the market. You'll be able to make a real and significant impact at a high-growth company and help build an incredible brand. If you're strategically and conceptually strong in crafting authentic, human-centric copy that resonates with an honest and hard-working audience, we want to hear from you.

The Creative Copywriter will:

  • Be the voice behind the scenes. You’ll further enhance Jobber's voice, tone, and written style to create copy that resonates with our audiences. We’re talking high-visibility projects that can build brand awareness, and honest copy is how we want to get there.
  • Be in the driver's seat. You’ll create compelling and data/research-driven A/B tests for marketing campaigns and digital ads.
  • Be a lightbulb. We want someone who will bring new and creative ideas to further our established brand and processes.
  • Be a subject matter expert. You’ll work across a wide range of areas, including web copy, product positioning, brand positioning, creative ad copy, marketing emails, experiential copy, and scripting for videos and streaming audio.
  • Be a collaborator. You’ll be working with essential teams inside and outside of Jobber, so it's key to take feedback and build on it to make something great even better.

To be successful, you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience as an advertising copywriter at agencies, SaaS or tech companies, studios, or in-house.
  • A portfolio that shows strong strategic and conceptual thinking and writing consistently applied across a range of deliverables.
  • Interest in teaching people why and how great copy makes a difference. We don’t expect you to teach people how to write professionally, but do expect you to help people understand the value your work brings to our effort and audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to help define communication strategies for product releases and events.
