Position Description:
Consultancy Assignment: Interpreter for Project Support
ChildFund Rugby is recruiting interpreters who can support Rugby for Development project in Laos by Lao- English and English-Lao interpretations of coach training and other project events as required from now until 30 June 2024.
Context:
This consultancy focused on Pass It Back , an innovative Sport for Development program led by ChildFund in partnership with Lao Rugby Federation (LRF) that delivers an integrated life skills and rugby curriculum for children and young people in disadvantaged communities across Laos . The program aims to provide children with structured sport and life skills learning opportunities in a safe, inclusive environment, that supports social and emotional learning and allows them to positively contribute to their communities.
Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:
The purpose of this Consultancy is to provide interpretation support services to ChildFund from Lao to English and English to Lao to ensure that:
The Consultant will report to ChildFund Rugby Partnership Coordinator and work closely with Lao Coach Managers (PRDCs, AMs and CGLs) and LRF Rugby for Development Officers.
Note: Interpreter will be paid based on actual number of outputs delivered over the contract period.

• Ability to interpret to a high standard of accuracy, maintain the spirit and context of texts, as well as ensure technical language and nuances of the original version are retained, and use precise, clear and proper terminology;
• Ability to deliver outputs on-time, accurately, and efficiently;
• Ability to ask for clarification or explanation when faced with challenges;
• Ability to receive and use feedback constructively;
