Some of what you will do:

The Vertical Sales Specialist will serve as a liaison and subject matter expert for the Facilities, Technology & Education lines of business. This position involves outbound calling, with a direct focus on increasing key category penetration, revenue & margin growth. It includes maintaining relationships with internal business partners and customers by providing sales support, expertise, information, and guidance while recommending & closing sales opportunities.

 

Specifically, You Will:

  • Leverage product knowledge and vendor training to drive key category growth in Facilities, Technology and Education
  • Partner with AM to actively engage customer, make personalized recommendations, product solutions that will accurately reflect and address the customer’s needs.
  • Meet or exceed monthly targets in key metrics as determined by the business.
  • Make outbound sales calls to increase key category penetration.
  • Understand the sales process, sales approach /strategies and demonstrate the ability to execute consistently.
  • Manage DTC time by using probing skills to gain initial information needed to proceed with the quote, sales, etc. 
  • Leverage vendors, pricing, and sourcing as needed to secure deals.
  • Proactively source sales information, sales collateral that supports sales approach & customer needs.
  • Effectively utilize CRM systems & other applicable sales software.
  • Find creative, relevant ways to implement the sales strategies provided by the business and Team Manager.

 

Some of what you need:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Must have worked in an environment where sales, centric goal is present. 
  • Ability to produce required results, sales quota on a day-to-day basis. 
  • Proven sales ability in an environment sales metrics are measured and associate accountable to meeting goals and conversion.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • General product, vertical knowledge.
  • Experience working with a bonus or commission sales compensation plan.
  • 3-5 years of Staples experience in sales and/or customer service environment, or the equivalent in related experience.
