Some of what you will do:
The Vertical Sales Specialist will serve as a liaison and subject matter expert for the Facilities, Technology & Education lines of business. This position involves outbound calling, with a direct focus on increasing key category penetration, revenue & margin growth. It includes maintaining relationships with internal business partners and customers by providing sales support, expertise, information, and guidance while recommending & closing sales opportunities.
Specifically, You Will:
- Leverage product knowledge and vendor training to drive key category growth in Facilities, Technology and Education
- Partner with AM to actively engage customer, make personalized recommendations, product solutions that will accurately reflect and address the customer’s needs.
- Meet or exceed monthly targets in key metrics as determined by the business.
- Make outbound sales calls to increase key category penetration.
- Understand the sales process, sales approach /strategies and demonstrate the ability to execute consistently.
- Manage DTC time by using probing skills to gain initial information needed to proceed with the quote, sales, etc.
- Leverage vendors, pricing, and sourcing as needed to secure deals.
- Proactively source sales information, sales collateral that supports sales approach & customer needs.
- Effectively utilize CRM systems & other applicable sales software.
- Find creative, relevant ways to implement the sales strategies provided by the business and Team Manager.
Some of what you need:
- High School Diploma.
- Must have worked in an environment where sales, centric goal is present.
- Ability to produce required results, sales quota on a day-to-day basis.
- Proven sales ability in an environment sales metrics are measured and associate accountable to meeting goals and conversion.
- Bilingual in French and English.
- General product, vertical knowledge.
- Experience working with a bonus or commission sales compensation plan.
- 3-5 years of Staples experience in sales and/or customer service environment, or the equivalent in related experience.
