In this role You will lead an enterprise-wide observability program, owning the multi-phase deployment of Splunk (Enterprise/ITSI) and Azure monitoring across hybrid and high-performance environments. You’ll define the strategy, governance, and KPIs; integrate data sources across infrastructure teams; standardize alerting and dashboards; and optimize ingestion, indexing, and search for cost and performance. You’ll partner closely with engineering and operations to align SLIs/SLOs with incident response, reduce MTTR, and enable proactive, automated remediation—while communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to executives. Responsibilities Define and execute a multi-phase observability roadmap and program governance with OKRs, risks, and milestones. Lead the deployment, configuration, and integration of Splunk (Enterprise/ITSI) and Azure monitoring at scale. Establish a unified monitoring framework with Linux, scheduler, storage, network, and cloud teams; onboard critical data sources. Align observability metrics with SLIs/SLOs and incident response objectives; enable faster RCA and MTTR reduction. Standardize alerting and deliver actionable dashboards for platform, application, and infrastructure stakeholders. Set and enforce data governance: KPIs, retention policies, compliance standards, and access controls. Continuously optimize ingestion, indexing, and search performance for reliability and cost efficiency. Drive best practices for proactive monitoring and automated remediation, including runbooks and playbooks. Manage vendor relationships and licensing with Splunk and other observability providers; align on roadmap and support. Provide executive-level status updates, risk/issue management, and dependency tracking across teams. Deliver clear documentation, training, and enablement for operations and engineering teams. Qualifications 5+ years of technical program management within enterprise infrastructure environments. Proven success deploying and managing Splunk (Enterprise or ITSI) and Azure monitoring at scale. Strong understanding of high-performance environments and hybrid cloud architectures. Hands-on familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Dynatrace. Knowledge of SRE principles, SLIs/SLOs, incident management, and operational excellence practices. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills. Relevant certifications such as PMP, Certified Scrum Master, or Splunk Certified Admin/Architect. Preferred qualifications Experience with automation and orchestration tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. Background integrating observability across Azure, AWS, or GCP services and platforms. Exposure to predictive analytics or AIOps use cases for anomaly detection and auto-remediation. Salary Range Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $100,000 - $110,000 USD Annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
