    Job Description

    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Statistician in United States. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply statistical expertise in the analysis of historical and environmental radiation data. The Statistician will work closely with a team of health physics and statistics professionals, supporting projects that reconstruct occupational radiation exposures and assess environmental safety. This position involves data mining, analysis of complex datasets, and communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. The role provides the chance to engage in meaningful work with a real-world impact, contributing to radiation safety and regulatory compliance. You will gain experience in specialized fields such as left-censored data analysis and historical record evaluation, all while collaborating in a professional, remote work environment.

    Accountabilities:

    • Provide statistical support to teams reconstructing historical radiation exposure for workers.
    • Analyze environmental and occupational radiation exposure data to inform safety assessments.
    • Perform data mining from historical exposure records and handle left-censored data.
    • Prepare reports and summaries of statistical findings for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with health physicists to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of statistical analyses.
    • Master’s degree in Statistics or a related quantitative field; Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience also acceptable.
    • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in statistics or related field.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in programming, preferably R.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

    U.S. citizenship required due to potential security clearance needs. Preferred: Experience in health physics, environmental monitoring, and familiarity with DOE, AEC, or ERDA historical records. Knowledge of internal and external radiation monitoring is a plus. Competitive base salary: $80,000 – $110,000/year, depending on experience and location.
