You will act as a technical leader, moving between teams to tackle high-leverage problems, improve system architecture, and influence long-term engineering strategy. The position combines coding, architectural design, and mentorship, requiring ownership of business-critical systems and collaboration across multiple squads. You will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, real-time systems, driving innovations that directly affect product reliability, scalability, and user experience. Accountabilities:

    • Design, implement, and improve scalable, resilient systems across multiple product areas.
    • Mentor engineers at all levels through guidance, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Contribute hands-on code approximately 60% of the time while balancing technical leadership responsibilities.
    • Influence engineering culture by sharing best practices for testing, code review, workflows, and architecture.
    • Identify opportunities for large-scale improvements to critical systems and guide their execution.
    • Work with product and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.

9+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven record of building and scaling production systems.

    • Experience leading major technical projects that span teams, functions, and layers of the stack.
    • Deep understanding of software architecture, performance, observability, and resilience.

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for complex, cross-system issues. Ability to mentor and elevate other engineers through coaching and collaborative practices. Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with a focus on delivering high-quality results. Salary range: $216,750 – $280,000 USD, with equity eligibility. Competitive health benefits, including fertility and adoption assistance, starting on your first month. Flexible work environment: remote, hybrid, or office-based depending on preference. Unlimited PTO for vacation, sick, and mental health days, with encouragement to take at least 20 days annually. Paid parental leave of 16 weeks with flexible re-entry schedules. 401(k) plan with 100% company match up to 3% of annual compensation. Diversity initiatives and employee resource groups to foster an inclusive work culture. Professional development support including mentorship, coaching, and discretionary learning budget.
