Position Summary This hybrid position merges strategic business development and technical field application knowledge to promote Thermo Fisher Scientific’s cell culture media and bioproduction services in India. The successful candidate will build partnerships, guide technical collaborations, and foster growth through tailored solutions and customer interaction across the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical sectors. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic and technical advisor to customers by working closely with Account Managers (BAMs), Technical Sales Specialists (TSS), and internal cross-functional teams. This role aims to broaden Thermo Fisher’s cell culture media and services footprint in India. Develop and manage strategic partnerships with biotech, biopharma, CRO, and CDMO customers, finding opportunities for collaboration on custom media, process development, and optimization projects. Lead joint development initiatives and in-licensing of media IP, coordinating with R&D and Bioprocessing Design Centers (BDCs) to deliver customized solutions. Deliver technical consulting and application support to optimize customer processes and ensure successful adoption of Thermo Fisher technologies, driving projects from early engagement to commercial success and lasting partnerships. Capture and communicate the Voice of Customer (VoC) to R&D and Product Management, influencing innovation and portfolio strategy. Build and manage Media Development and Key Driver Investigation (KDI) pipelines to align technical opportunities with commercial objectives. Lead contract development and negotiations, including proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Master Service Agreements (MSAs), ensuring both scientific and business objectives are met. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field) or equivalent experience required. An advanced degree (PhD, MBA, or equivalent) is preferred. Experience 7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or field application roles within Biotech, Biopharma, or Life Sciences industries. Proven success in process development, media optimization, and strategic partnership management. Proven experience in negotiations, project management, and strategic account development. Demonstrated ability to translate technical expertise into commercial outcomes. Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of bioproduction workflows, encompassing cell culture media, upstream/downstream processing, and analytical techniques. Strong business insight combined with scientific credibility. Excellent communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel up to 50% across India.
