    Job Description

    Who are we? StoryToys is a Top-Ten children’s app creator, delivering a suite of apps for children between the ages of 2 and 8. We work with the world’s biggest entertainment IP (Intellectual Property), translating their loved characters to a digital world. We publish worldwide, in 26 languages with monthly active users in the millions. We are based in Dublin, Ireland but work with a large global team.

    About the role:

    As a Producer you will play a crucial role in driving the development and success of our children's apps, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards and deliver exceptional value to our young audience. You will create engaging and educational experiences. You will drive all aspects of creative product development and release, in adherence to defined brand guidelines and with sensitivity to partner brand bibles and IP specifications and in alignment with StoryToys strategic and commercial goals. This is a 20 month Fixed Term Contract.

    What you'll do:

    Product Vision and Strategy:

    • Develop a clear and compelling vision for StoryToys products, aligning with the company's overall mission and objectives and in close collaboration with product and/or prototype teams.
    • Formulate a product strategy that balances creativity, entertainment, and educational value to cater to the needs of our young audience.

    Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap outlining the short-term and long-term development goals. Work closely with the director of production to regularly review and adjust the roadmap based on changing market conditions, user feedback, and business priorities. Have a keen understanding of the product dependencies and constraints.

    Requirements Gathering:

    Conduct thorough market research and gather insights from target users, parents, and educators to identify trends, preferences, and pain points. Use this information to define and prioritise app features and improvements. Translate high-level product concepts into clear and concise user stories, complete with detailed acceptance criteria. Collaborate closely with the development team during the sprint planning and refining sessions to ensure a shared understanding of requirements. Lead creative sessions through brainstorming and ideas refinement to define gameplay mechanics and visual aspects of characters and environments. Analyse user feedback, app performance metrics, and reviews to identify areas for improvement. Utilise data-driven insights to make informed decisions and enhance the app's overall user experience. Plan and conduct user testing sessions to gather feedback and validate app features and improvements. Use insights from user testing to refine product requirements and enhance the overall user experience.

    Product delivery:

    Ensure we launch the right product at the right time. Work closely with the scrum master to coordinate the release process, ensuring that new app features and updates are launched on time and meet the required quality standards. Embrace and promote agile methodologies, particularly scrum, as the preferred approach for product development. Act as a key member of the scrum team, participating in sprint ceremonies and working closely with the scrum master and development team to deliver valuable increments of the product.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Persuade, engage, and motivate the entire team to rally around a product vision, guiding all creative sessions.
    • Present and get alignment internally with other functions (commercial, finance, production) on the product direction and individual releases.

    Collaborate with external partners, content providers, and other third parties to enhance our app offerings and create valuable partnerships. Manage communication and relationships with partners to ensure successful collaboration and timely integration of new content.

    Budgeting Responsibility:

    Manage the product development budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet project objectives. Collaborate with the finance team and director of production to track expenses and make data-driven decisions to optimise budget utilisation.

    Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation:

    • Stay up to date with industry regulations and guidelines concerning children's apps, ensuring that our products comply with all relevant laws and standards.
    • Use experience and foresight to determine and mitigate risks and communicate with stakeholders, outlining possible impacts.

    What you’ll need:

    • Proven experience, with 5+ years as a Producer or in a related role within the mobile app development industry, with a focus on children's apps being a plus.
    • Deep understanding of child development, learning principles, and user behaviour in the context of children's apps.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross functional teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and customer centric approach to decision-making.
    • Passion for creating high-quality, educational, and entertaining experiences for children.
    • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools.
    • Knowledge of app store guidelines and regulations related to children's apps is desirable.
