Overview The Master Data Specialist plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing master data within the NetSuite ERP environment. This role is responsible for onboarding, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all product-related master data, including material masters, BOMs, product recipes, and related records. As the subject matter expert for master data, you will support cross-functional teams, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance data quality, operational efficiency, and alignment across the business. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Supply Chain, the ideal candidate brings strong ERP master data expertise, excellent attention to detail, experience in co-manufacturing processes, and a proactive approach to improving systems and workflows. This role requires managing multiple concurrent projects and ensuring the organization’s ERP remains the reliable “single source of truth.” Key Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain Item Master data in the NetSuite ERP system.
Manage material masters, bills of materials (BOMs), and product master recipes for raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods.
Serve as the champion for ERP data accuracy, ensuring the system remains the central source of truth for the organization.
Develop and document standards, guidelines, and SOPs to ensure consistent data management and best practices.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to gather required data inputs, resolve discrepancies, and validate accuracy.
Ensure 100% accuracy across all key data sets including Material Masters, BOMs, Purchasing Information Records, Product Groups, and related records.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and proposing process enhancements to improve data quality and efficiency.
Act as Master Data “Super User” to educate internal teams, troubleshoot issues, and support exceptions.
Translate manufacturing and operational requirements into accurate NetSuite configurations.
Ensure proper setup of units of measure and conversions for each production location.
Maintain strong data integrity through consistent application of system and procedural controls.
Prepare and update master data for annual cost roll cycles, ensuring all materials are accurately maintained to avoid costing discrepancies.
Communicate daily with internal teams to ensure all component, product, and customer attributes are correctly populated in the database. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
3–5+ years of relevant experience with strong knowledge of ERP master data.
Minimum 2+ years of functional NetSuite experience highly preferred.
Experience with co-manufacturing processes is a plus.
Proficiency in both Mac and PC environments, as well as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry.
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making.
Highly organized, disciplined, and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects in an agile environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under challenging timelines and shifting priorities.
