Poseidon Aerospace is a venture-backed startup building unmanned cargo planes for commercial and military logistics. We have raised $11M from top venture capital firms to develop the largest cargo drones in the world. We’ve successfully tested Seagull, our quarter-scale prototype, and are currently manufacturing Heron (seaplane) and Egret (STOL plane).
The Poseidon Maine Fellowship is a unique program for students and recent graduates who want to help build the bridge between Maine’s deep heritage in manufacturing and the latest wave of venture-backed hardware startups.
Fellows will work part-time on flexible schedules across three tracks: Marketing, Engineering, and Growth. This fellowship is not a structured internship where you will be assigned specific tasks every day. You will have significant autonomy to work on what matters, whether that’s researching contract opportunities with the Department of War, coordinating partnerships with institutions, or spending time with our engineering team building our plane in our San Francisco headquarters.
The fellowship runs for 6 months starting January 2026, with potential to extend or transition to other opportunities at Poseidon.
Marketing: You will help us tell Poseidon’s story by drafting compelling content for our social media platforms and helping us develop our brand in the new media landscape. Video editing skills are highly desired for this position.
Engineering: You will be the technical bridge between our SF engineering team and Maine's engineering ecosystem. You will Maine engineering students and professionals for open roles, build relationships with academic institutions, and identify technical collaboration opportunities within Maine's ecosystem.
Growth: Research federal opportunities and DoW solicitations, analyze commercial logistics markets, understand competitors and customers, track defense industry trends, and build the analysis that informs our business development strategy.
We're looking for motivated and talented students or recent graduates who are self-directed, curious about technology, and comfortable with ambiguity. You should be able to work independently, switch between different types of work, and conduct high-quality research and analysis without constant oversight. No specific major or experience required—we care if you're smart, motivated, and can execute.
You must be based in Maine or currently attend a university in Maine. This is a hybrid role based out of our Brunswick office. If you have any further questions, please contact Jorge Guajardo (jorge@poseidonaero.com).
Application deadline is December 31st, 11:59 PM
