    Build the Future of Private Communication XMTP Labs is building the future of messaging - secure, private, and decentralized. Our open protocol (XMTP) powers the next generation of communication, enabling a universal, secure messaging layer for the internet. Convos, our flagship app, brings that vision to life as a privacy-first, interoperable chat experience. We’re hiring a GTM Leader to define and execute the strategy that brings XMTP Labs’ products and ecosystem to the world. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for shaping our positioning, driving adoption across both the XMTP protocol and Convos app, and building the functions that define how we grow. You’ll oversee and scale the GTM organization, including Business Development, Brand, Marketing, Partnerships, and Design, working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Dev Ecosystem to turn vision into traction. We’re looking for a strategic, execution-oriented leader who knows how to build momentum from zero to one and scale from one to many. You should be equally comfortable refining product-market fit, crafting narratives that resonate across audiences—from developers and creators to consumers - and building growth systems that scale. You’ll report directly to the CEO and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Ecosystem to turn our vision into traction.

    Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Market Vision Define and own the company’s GTM strategy across protocol, app, and ecosystem. Translate vision into actionable narratives, distribution channels, and measurable outcomes. Partner with Product and Engineering to align launches with strategic growth priorities. Identify and capture market opportunities across Web3 and beyond. Growth & Distribution Design and execute strategies for acquisition, activation, and retention across multiple audiences—developers, partners, and end users. Build scalable channels across community, partnerships, content, and growth programs. Collaborate with Ecosystem and Developer Relations to expand XMTP adoption. Experiment with distribution models that blend crypto-native and Web2 growth playbooks. Organizational Leadership Build and lead GTM functions including Business Development, Design, and Partnerships. Define success metrics, operating cadence, and performance frameworks. Foster a culture of clarity, accountability, and experimentation. Recruit and mentor a high-performing, mission-driven team. Brand, Storytelling & Community Craft compelling narratives that communicate the value of secure, private, interoperable communication. Oversee messaging, positioning, and brand strategy for XMTP and Convos. Activate and grow communities of users, developers, and ecosystem partners. Represent XMTP Labs externally with press, partners, and industry leaders. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Product, Engineering, and Ecosystem to align product strategy with GTM execution. Establish tight feedback loops between market insights and product development. Create clear frameworks for prioritization and performance across functions.

    What We’re Looking For 10+ years in GTM, growth, or marketing roles with at least 5+ years leading teams. Proven success building and scaling go-to-market functions in high-growth, product-driven environments. Experience launching and growing products from 0→1, ideally in messaging, infrastructure, or privacy-centric tech. Comfort operating in or adjacent to the Web3 / crypto ecosystem (you understand it, but don’t define yourself by it). Deep understanding of developer ecosystems, network effects, and community-led or product-led growth motions. Strong storytelling and positioning skills - you can make the complex feel simple and compelling. Analytical and creative - able to balance data-driven rigor with instinct and creativity. High EQ leadership style that inspires clarity, trust, and accountability.

    Nice-to-Haves Experience with decentralized networks, protocols, or privacy-preserving technologies. Background in developer relations, ecosystem growth, or partnerships. Track record of building brands that bridge technical and mainstream audiences. Prior experience in Web3, messaging, or open-source ecosystems.
