This role will take ownership of our non-production environments, ensuring they remain healthy, consistent, and ready for change. You’ll keep lower environments aligned with Production through regular code and data copybacks, enabling development and testing teams to work with realistic, reliable datasets. This includes managing environment configurations and variables, ensuring they are secure, controlled, and traceable across the estate. Build and maintain robust, secure and scalable platforms in a hybrid cloud environment using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and Helm. Keep non-production environments baselined and in sync with Production, including regular code and data copybacks. Manage environment configuration, variables and secrets in line with security and compliance standards. Support the sprint and release cycle by ensuring lower environments are up to date, available and fit for purpose ahead of test and release activities. Monitor environment health, reliability and performance, and proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact delivery. Spin up, configure and, where appropriate, decommission environments to support projects, test phases and experiments. Drive automation and tooling to reduce manual toil across Azure environments and CI/CD pipelines. Partner with Development, Architecture and Infrastructure teams to align infrastructure initiatives and promote standardisation and best practice. Create and maintain clear documentation, runbooks and environment diagrams to support repeatable, reliable operations. Contribute to continuous improvement of our route-to-live processes, including feedback into release management, testing and observability. Who are we looking for? Strong scripting ability in at least one language (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell). Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical, automation-first mindset. Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (ideally Azure DevOps) and modern branching strategies (Git). Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, including documentation. Ability to manage multiple environments and priorities in a structured, organised way. High-level understanding of Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments, services, ingress). What happens next?
