    Job Description

    This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering in India. We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead and scale high-performing technology teams focused on operational systems that support critical business processes. In this role, you will define the technology strategy, oversee multiple engineering squads, and deliver innovative solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and the overall experience for both internal users and customers. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive automation, AI/ML initiatives, and data-driven decision-making across operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where technical vision, people management, and operational excellence intersect, offering the opportunity to shape both technology and team culture. You will mentor senior engineers, influence long-term technology direction, and ensure that all systems are secure, scalable, and resilient.

    Accountabilities:

    · Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for operational systems, including support platforms, case management, AI-driven workflows, fraud tooling, and automation. · Lead and grow multiple engineering teams, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture. · Partner with Product, Data, Risk, and Operations teams to deliver tools that enhance efficiency, member experience, and operational effectiveness. · Drive reliability, scalability, and security across all operational systems and platforms. · Champion automation, AI/ML opportunities, and data-driven decision-making to reduce operational cost and friction. · Mentor and coach senior engineers and managers to build future leaders within the organization. · Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems. · 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles (Senior Manager/Director level). · Proven track record of building large-scale distributed systems or workflow/operations platforms in fintech, SaaS, or high-scale consumer products. · Experience with support platforms, back-office systems, or risk/compliance tooling (bonus for KYC/AML/fraud systems). · Ability to set long-term technology direction while remaining detail-oriented when needed. · Strong people leadership skills with experience in growing and inspiring engineering teams. · Solid technical foundation in cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, and data platforms (AWS or GCP). · Passion for automation, operational efficiency, and ideally experience with AI/ML in support or risk domains. · Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. · Competitive salary packages · Flexible working arrangements including remote work and the ability to work from a different country for up to 90 days per year · Self and family health insurance, term & life insurance, OPD benefits · Mental wellbeing support through dedicated programs · Learning and development budget and opportunities for career growth · Work-from-home setup allowance · 25 annual leave days plus family-friendly leaves · Inclusive and diverse work environment with transparent and collaborative culture Jobgether is a Talent Matching Platform that partners with companies worldwide to efficiently connect top talent with the right opportunities through AI-driven job matching.
