In this role, you will architect and maintain the pipelines and systems that ensure high-quality, reliable data flow across the organization. Working closely with software engineers, machine learning teams, and data analysts, you will ingest, clean, normalize, and validate data from multiple sources to support analytics and AI-driven decision-making. You will build transformation and validation layers upstream to ensure accuracy and usability for downstream applications, including reporting and ML pipelines. 5+ years of experience delivering data solutions in early-stage, high-growth startups, preferably in payments or fintech.
Proficiency in Python for data processing and transformation tasks. Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow, Dagster). Familiarity with distributed workflow systems (e.g., Temporal, AWS Step Functions). Experience with cloud OLAP platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and query optimization. Knowledge of pub/sub messaging systems such as Kafka and scalable data ingestion patterns. Familiarity with data transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt) and validation patterns. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset for designing scalable, reliable systems. Competitive salary: CAD $130,000 – $170,000 per year.
