Why are we hiring a UX Designer?

 We’re on the hunt for a UX Designer as part of our company’s growth.

 You will be responsible for connecting with Product Trios to ideate and workshop product opportunities. Then help shape the future of medical science by scheduling and conducting user research, prototyping solutions, and presenting clear and compelling manner to drive consensus with stakeholders. This is a challenging role, involving the design of new and complex applications for scientists.

Well, we’re a global provider of bespoke industry-leading software solutions and services, which facilitate the pre-clinical, and clinical phases of the drug discovery process. We have over fifteen products in our portfolio, used by over 700 pharmaceutical clients (including all the top 20!)

What are you responsible for?

• Form strong working relationships with Product Managers and development teams across products.
• Proactively initiate collaboration and evangelise good UX practice.
• Take early-stage product goals and help product trios solidify them into measurable opportunities.
• Identify gaps in understanding, then organise and carry out research to fill those gaps.
• Produce clear, concise, and visual handover materials where required. Including sketches, user journeys, research maps, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Engage with development teams through story review and iteration.
• Create designs which harmonise with our existing UI framework.
• Encourage and participate in constructive criticism and design review cycles
• Adherence to the Company’s Quality Management System to ensure that all work is handled Securely, Professionally and Diligently

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Behavioural Competencies
Strong reasoning and logical deduction skills – deconstruct user behaviour and understand what can and cannot be concluded from usability research data.
• Charismatic, diplomatic, and good at networking – independently connect with colleagues and customers.
• Highly organised, proactive, and passionate – self motivated and able to identify opportunities to provide UX guidance.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Experience working in or alongside a scientific, medical, or engineering industry. 
• At least 3 years of UX experience working within a team of designers.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, methodology, and terminology.
• Strong understanding of core visual design principles.
• Experience with continuous-discovery methodology, and opportunity-solution principles.
• Proficiency with design tools like Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma.
• Coding experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
