Your impact 

This is a critical role in teaching ~30 learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One’s virtual Cloud Support Specialist training program. The commitment is to the duration of the training program to support synchronous sessions as well as provide asynchronous support to Fellows to support comprehension and learning. This is a fully remote role.

A day in the life 

This is a part time, contract position that will run for 40 weeks from September 2024 to June 2025. This role will need to be available for live sessions with program participants twice a week for 2-hours per session. Between attending the live session, providing office hours and asynchronous work, we estimate the total time commitment for this role to be 6-10 hours per week.

Management and Support (During Live Program - Weeks 1-22):

  • Attend all LIVE lectures and provide support for the training program as listed below: 
  • Cloud Operations Program(4 hours per week)
    • Option 1: September 10, 2024 - January 14, 2025 on Tues/Thurs from 7-9pm EST
    • Option 2: October 7, 2024 - March 12, 2025 on Tues/Thurs from 1:30-3:30pm EST
  • Provide one hour of “Drop - In Office Hours/Review Session” per week (1 hour per week)
  • Attend the TA Weekly Meeting (30 min each week)
  • Be available for 1:1 office hour requests with assigned learners based on availability. You may set these hours within our parameters, for your convenience. (up to max 6 hours per week)
  • Complete grading of Fellow’s deliverables (2 hours each week)
  • Work with fellow instructors and the Correlation One team on ways to improve learner experience

Supporting Capstone Project (Weeks 23-40)

  • This role will support the learner in identifying a real business problem and support them in identifying how to best solve the problem using Cloud Operations skills. We anticipate you would only need to be available for a few hours per week during this time and will be able to set your hours

Class support on non-lecture days:

  • Monitor your Slack channel to answer Learners’ questions
  • Review the materials for the week so you are prepared to answer questions
  • Contribute to course design improvement through thoughtful feedback to Correlation One team
  • Participate in the weekly meeting (time TBD)
  • Submit weekly write-ups summarizing the week’s accomplishments and challenges.  This is due by Monday at 8pm EST each week
  • Monitor the Slack channels throughout the day to answer Fellows’ questions
  • Hold live office hours during weekdays

Class support on lecture days 

  • Monitor appropriate Slack channels and answer Learners’ questions
  • Support Learners who are experiencing technical issues accessing training platform or materials
  • Hold Individual Office Hours via Zoom weekly with Learners to assist in their Capstone Project

Your expertise 

  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in Cloud Support, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Networking, DevOps, etc.
  • A desire to support students in expanding their careers in technical roles
  • Empathy, flexibility, patience; passion for working with diverse learners who are new to content
  • Outstanding team and people management skills; exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to understand and use new learning and content management systems
  • Certification in AWS Cloud Practitioner, Comp TIA Network+, and Comp TIA Linux+

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Slack, Zoom, and Gmail 
  • Prior mentorship or teaching experience at any level

Required dates and times for live lectures

    • Option 1: September 10, 2024 - January 14, 2025 on Tues/Thurs from 7-9pm EST
    • Option 2: October 7, 2024 - March 12, 2025 on Tues/Thurs from 1:30-3:30pm EST
  • Time commitment outside of lecture
    • Up to 6 office hours per week
    • Asynchronous support to learners

Where you are

  • This is a remote position with the preference that the ideal candidate be located in the US and/or is willing to support live instruction in the Eastern time zone. 

Compensation

  • This role is compensated at $42.50/hr
