Salary: 65K-80K and 12K bonus pack 


The opportunity:

We are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role you will be required to plan and schedule demand, capacity, utilization, and priorities across multiple teams.

To be successful as a Engineering manager, you should have excellent leadership skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Challenges the team processes, looking for ways to improve
  • Mentors junior engineers 
  • Makes active efforts to stay up-to-date with technologies
  • Support the technical design of complex systems
  • Delivers complex systems, well-baked, and almost bug-free
  • Proactively Identifies problems with requirements and project plan
  • Research and propose new technologies
  • Consistently influence technical and business roadmap of services/products/projects
  • Communicate with self-awareness
  • When is proposing something, at any level, is doing it in written form and providing the proper context
  • Contributes to the career development of others
  • Produces quality metrics on the SDLC process
  • Ensures team software is monitorable and HA
  • Produces quality metrics on customer satisfaction
  • Able to lead recruiting efforts and determine headcount for their teams
  • Partners effectively with product/customer to manage scope and deliverables for the technical side of the product/project roadmap
  • Care about the efficiency of the company, introducing new practices , processes and standards
  • Sets clear expectations for team members; solicits, synthesizes and delivers feedback
  • Communicates timeline, scope and technical concerns to the teams.
  • Leads delivery of major initiatives on clear timelines
  • Able to identify areas of strategic technical debt and provide cost/benefit analysis for eliminating this debt and suggested timelines for how to prioritize it.
  • Able to identify potential up-sell opportunities on existing customers and to communicate with sales department.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10+ years of experience and at least some past experience in the specific role
  • In-depth knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, and similar frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of programming languages including Java and Scala
  • Expert in cloud-native technologies, IaC, and Docker tools
  • Excellent project management skills
