With remote monitoring, precision diagnostics, task and asset management solutions, our smart appliance solutions offer increased efficiency, reduced service costs, and improved operational performance for property owners and operators.
As the Principal Business Development Manager for SmartHQ Pro Solutions, you're tasked with growing the SaaS and IoT product portfolios through new sales opportunities, customer relationship management, and strategic collaborations across sales channels. You'll lead sales cycles, utilize CRM tools, and work with cross-functional teams to meet growth targets.
Your responsibilities also include developing training for sales teams, optimizing sales processes, producing marketing content, and establishing partnerships. You'll lead trade show planning and manage product launches, focusing on market expansion and adopting innovative marketing and promotional strategies to enhance SmartHQ Pro Solutions' market presence and customer engagement.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development, Strategic Customer Account Management, Partnerships, Sales Operations Transformation (60%)

  • Drive B2B business growth of SaaS and IoT product portfolios, identifying new sales opportunities and market segments, building, and maintaining relationships with customers.
  • Maximize and expand the growth of SmartHQ Pro solutions, in Contract (Direct), Distributors (Indirect), Retail and E-commerce sales channels.
  • Nurture and develop strategic customer accounts. Lead and manage the sales process from lead generation to closure in Salesforce, PriceFX.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations teams to create frameworks and processes to simplify and scale order management, quotation, and fulfillment for SmartHQ Pro offerings.
  • Track and report on sales activities, revenue forecasts, and performance against targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Application Engineering) and leadership to develop and execute strategic sales plans and initiatives.
  • Develop joint Go-to Market/commercial partnerships with 3rd party SaaS platform companies.
  • Identify potential and new market segments, conduct market research, and analyze industry and competitive trends.

Sales and Customer Trainings, Account Based Marketing and NPI (25%)

  • Develop and conduct commercial training programs and campaigns for GE Appliances sales teams and external distributors on selling SmartHQ Pro product offerings.
  • Create and deliver content (e.g. webinars, SaaS product videos, customer testimonials, case studies and collateral) to articulate the benefits of SmartHQ Pro Solutions to multifamily, property management, assisted living, university housing, and hospitality customers.
  • Develop New Product Introduction (NPI) planning, product, feature, and services positioning, packaging, messaging, and supporting documentation for go-to-market launches.
  • Develop marketing plans that drive the growth and adoption of GE Appliances SmartHQ Pro solutions, while supporting channel marketing programs to scale growth.

Tradeshows, Industry events planning and participation (15%)   

  • Lead tradeshows strategy, planning and execution, including budget management.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in marketing, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in B2B business development, sales, or a similar role within the software or technology industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets, securing new business opportunities, and expanding market presence in new segments.
  • Proven capability in managing sales cycles, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closure in B2B space.
  • Experience with CRM systems, like Salesforce, for tracking customer interactions and sales progress.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development strategies, market analysis, sales forecasting, and pricing management.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic business plans, develop, and manage strategic customer accounts and iterate with innovative go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience in B2B customer segmentation strategy and messaging.
  • Fast learner and self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Forms great relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
  • Prior Business Development, Sales, or Marketing experience with B2B SaaS or IoT products.
  • Prior working experience in Smart Appliance or Smart Home product companies.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Sketch, or other design suites.

Working Conditions

  • Up to 30% travel required for domestic travel.
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be located on EST/CST time zone & close to a major airport.
