Network Security Specialist (m/f/d) - 100% Remote
Your mission:
During the next years EU Tech wants to improve its brand and increase its overall performance.
Your daily tasks:
- Firewall Configuration and Management: Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to protect the organization's network infrastructure. This includes configuring firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and security policies to ensure secure and efficient traffic flow.
- VPN Implementation and Administration: Deploy and maintain virtual private network (VPN) solutions to enable secure remote access for employees, partners, and customers. This involves configuring VPN tunnels, authentication mechanisms, encryption protocols, and monitoring VPN traffic for security threats.
- Network Security Monitoring: Monitor firewall and VPN infrastructure for suspicious activity, security incidents, and potential breaches. Utilize network security monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns, detect anomalies, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Security Policy Development: Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to define security requirements and implement effective security controls.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Respond to security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to mitigate security risks and prevent future incidents. Troubleshoot firewall and VPN issues, diagnose network connectivity problems, and provide technical support to resolve security-related issues.
- Security Audits and Compliance: Perform periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of security controls. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and industry-specific regulations.
- Security Architecture Design: Participate in the design and architecture of network security solutions, including firewall placements, VPN topologies, and network segmentation strategies. Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT teams to integrate security requirements into the overall network architecture.
- Security Awareness Training: Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees on best practices for using firewalls and VPNs securely. Educate users about common security threats, phishing attacks, and social engineering tactics to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with firewall technologies, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Juniper, or Fortinet.
- Proficiency in VPN technologies, including IPsec, SSL/TLS, VPN concentrators, and remote access VPNs.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
- Experience with network security monitoring tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and packet analyzers.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexible to work remotely with European Time Zone.
