A Legal Assistant is the right hand of the Attorney and the valued “unsung” hero of the team. The successful candidate will handle this multi-tasked role with the utmost care and with impeccable attention to detail. The ideal legal assistant remains flexible with constantly evolving schedule changes, and is able to adjust last minute to accommodate attorney and client needs, and is an independent problem solver.
Responsibilities
Review new case files and ensures all documentation and information in file is accurate
Facilitate, organize, manage Attorney Calendar in coordination with assigned attorney(s)
Review case files to ensure matters are filed timely and calendar dates are accurate
Timely filing of cases, court date requests, and communication with clients for updates and resolution of cases
Completes all tasks assigned on a daily basis
Maintains case files following firm policies, ensuring all relevant information is obtained and organized in the case file
Provides constant support to attorney with ongoing cases
Attends scheduled meetings
Additional duties may be assigned
Requirements
Associate’s degree or higher in related field or 5 years of relevant experience
Minimum of 2 years of law office experience as a legal assistant or related position
Communicates clearly and honestly with all clients, new and existing
Is humble and compassionate when speaking with clients
Impeccable attention to detail with processes, spelling, and communications
Independent problem solver with forward-thinking solutions
Collects and researches data
Fast-paced work ethic that allows you to meet tight deadlines
Collaborative approach when working with colleagues
Energetic with positive attitude
Handle technology with grace
Bilingual English/Spanish in all communication modalities
