Role Overview
As a Data Engineer at Pointr, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our AI-driven indoor mapping technology. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and optimize the data pipelines that fuel our machine-learning models, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain tools for data labeling, automation, and manipulation while continuously improving existing workflows. Core Responsibilities
- Data labeling and preparation for ML training operations
- Creating and managing automation flows for data preparation for various ML models
- Creating scripts for data manipulation
- Improving existing data labeling tools
- Creating and managing a new web-based data annotation tool
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Science or a relevant Engineering field from top universities (we only accept applications from Engineers).
- Ability to communicate in English fluently and idiomatically
- Proficiency in Python
- Ability to write scripts (Python, Bash, etc.) to automate data preparation processes
- Understanding of data formats such as JSON, CSV
- Proficiency in web development tools (React is preferred, but others are welcome as well)
- Experience with Git for code management and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Precise handling of data to ensure accuracy in labeling and preparation
- Patience: Perseverance in long and detail-oriented manual data annotation tasks
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues related to data workflows and automation
- Familiarity with tools like LabelImg and LabelMe
- Proficiency in libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud for managing ML operations
- Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes for containerizing data workflows
- Experience in developing and managing web-based tools using frameworks
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple data preparation tasks simultaneously
- Initiative to propose and implement improvements to existing processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on assigned tasks
