The Team

The Policy and Legislation Branch is an established, dynamic team leading the modernization of strategic policy and legislative frameworks to advance sustainable, multimodal transportation solutions in BC. This team provides expert advice and leadership to support the Ministry's goals for a safe, clean, and reliable transportation system. Working closely with partners across provincial, federal, and community levels, the branch fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging environment where everyone’s input is valued and diverse perspectives help shape impactful policy.



The Role

In this role, you’ll have the chance to shape policies that truly address the needs of diverse communities. You'll be leading policy projects, conducting thorough analyses, and working closely with various partners to develop thoughtful recommendations that support the ministry's goals. By listening to feedback from different groups and coordinating efforts across levels of government, you'll help create policies that are more inclusive and reflect the voices of those impacted. Qualifications:

Education and Experience Requirements



  • Degree in business administration, public administration, social science or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Experience in preparation of briefing notes or equivalent to support executive decision making.

  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of analytic, advisory or technical documents/to support executive including recommendations for decision makers.

  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.

  • Experience managing projects and/or project components.




Preference may be given to applicants with:



  • Direct experience developing and/or implementing transportation policy and legislative/regulatory amendments.

  • Direct experience with influencing and/or negotiating to achieve goals and balancing different priorities and perspectives in advancing a project/program objective.

  • Masters degree.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.

Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
